Ultimation Industries Expands Conveyor Line with New Powered Flexible Expandable System

Dock-to-floor system targets labor reduction and seasonal flexibility as distribution centers face ongoing staffing pressures

Expandable systems let operations add or remove dock capacity based on actual trailer volume rather than projected maximums.”
— Alec Fitzgerald
ROSEVILLE, MI, UNITED STATES, April 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Ultimation Industries has released the Powered Flex Conveyor, a powered expandable conveyor engineered for truck loading and unloading operations at distribution centers, fulfillment facilities, and portable assembly applications.

The system targets a common operational bottleneck: moving packages between trailer beds and processing areas. The accordion-style frame extends from compressed storage to working lengths of 25, 40, 50, 60, or 80 feet while bending around corners and obstacles. Operators can reposition the portable conveyor for warehouses on locking swivel casters and connect up to three units together for extended reach up to 120 feet.

Each zone handles packages up to 100 pounds at speeds from 60 to 150 feet per minute, powered by 24VDC motors. The system operates in two modes: transportation mode for continuous movement, and accumulation mode, which uses photo-eye sensors to activate motors only when downstream zones are clear. The accumulation function reduces energy consumption and prevents package collisions without operator intervention.

The release responds to sustained pressure on warehouse labor markets. Distribution operations managing fluctuating volumes, particularly during peak seasons, face decisions about permanent conveyor infrastructure sized for maximum throughput versus more adaptable equipment that scales with demand.

"Fixed conveyor systems require facilities to build for peak capacity, which means underutilization during slower periods," said Alec Fitzgerald, Digital Marketing Supervisor at Ultimation Industries. "Expandable systems let operations add or remove dock capacity based on actual trailer volume rather than projected maximums."

Available configurations include bed widths of 18, 24, 30, and 36 inches, with two height range options (26 to 34 inches or 30 to 38 inches), adjustable via a locking pin. Optional accessories include impact carts, UHMW side guides, centering transitions, and power assist carts.
