The Beacon Signal Report combines survey responses with internal data

The report combines survey responses from mental and behavioral health practice owners with six months of Beacon’s own performance data.

Most industry reports give you what practices believe or what an agency wants you to see. We put both on the same page because I wanted to know where they align and where they miss each other.”

RENO, NV, UNITED STATES, October 23, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Drawing information from survey responses from mental and behavioral practice owners, as well as six months of internal performance reports, Beacon Media + Marketing is proud to publish “The Beacon Signal Report: The 2026 State of Mental Health Marketing.” This report provides key insights into the marketing challenges and opportunities for mental and behavioral practices expanding their digital reach.

The survey ran July 17 through August 2, 2026, and drew responses from practice owners, clinical directors, and marketing leads at organizations ranging from solo private practices to multi-location franchises and treatment centers. Beacon’s performance data covers paid ads, social media, and content for 29 mental and behavioral health clients from January 1 through July 31, 2026. The full report is available at no cost on Beacon’s website.

“Most industry reports give you what practices believe or what an agency wants you to see. We put both on the same page because I wanted to know where they align and where they miss each other,” declared Adrienne Wilkerson, Beacon’s CEO. “Mostly, they line up, and that’s the real story. Practices aren’t imagining the tracking problem or the compliance confusion. We see the same things in our own data, and we’re working through them right alongside the practices we serve.”

The report’s central finding is that being found is no longer the hard part for mental and behavioral health practices. Being chosen is. A person searching on Google, scrolling social media, or asking an AI chatbot about care is looking for answers to practical questions: whether a practice takes their insurance, treats what they are dealing with, has appointments available, and can be trusted with something this important. Practices that answer those questions early and clearly are pulling ahead.

Some of the report’s key findings include:

• Discovery happens across channels. Patients aren’t just finding your practice through Google anymore. AI searches, social media, directories, reviews, and community platforms all have their place in your traffic strategy.
• Targeted content performs better. The strongest-performing social content in Beacon’s sample answered a specific question. One client’s post explaining that ADHD cannot be diagnosed by a single test drew nearly 72,000 views, and provider introductions and clinician perspectives also stood out.
• Real clinical expertise stands out. There is plenty of basic information available online, and it’s growing exponentially thanks to AI. Real clinical expertise gives patients a reason to trust your answer and drives potential leads to your business.
• A compliance gap remains. 58% of respondents said they were not familiar with LegitScript or Google’s healthcare and addiction advertising policies. Beacon offers LegitScript services for practices looking to run paid Google and Meta ads.

Most importantly, the signal report found that tracking is still the top challenge for practices. “The #1 challenge practices named was knowing what’s working, and only 32% are tracking leads in a dedicated system,” said Denali Taylor, Beacon’s Client Strategy Director. “Connecting a marketing dollar to a patient who actually walks through the door takes the right setup, usually a CRM and offline conversion tracking. Once that’s in place, owners can make budget decisions with real confidence instead of a best guess.”

The Beacon Signal Report also compares survey and performance results side-by-side to identify actionable information for practice owners. It also aims to provide explanations where survey and performance results diverge. Taken together, the findings point to a shift from generating attention to removing the barriers between a person searching for help and actually receiving care.

The report is free on Beacon’s website, where practices can also sign up for an invitation to the next survey. This is the first Signal Report from Beacon, which aims to publish a Signal Report on a semiannual basis. “This market is changing so fast that a once-a-year snapshot goes stale, so we’ll publish the Signal Report every six months and keep showing our work,” said Adrienne.

Practice owners and marketing leaders who want to talk through the findings can contact Beacon’s team.
